Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is one of the busiest days for us besides Christmas. We ate at my parents house with all of my family around 2pm then hung out for a while and ate again at Aren's parents with his sister and husband. They ate at his parents then ate again with us at her parents. We were pretty full and hurting by bed time. I have so much to be Thankful for. My list is about a mile long but to name a few things...I am most thankful for such a loving and understanding husband. He is the love of my life and has blessed me with a wonderful little boy. Davin is such a joy to be around even when he is a handful. I have great inlaws that give us everything. My life is perfect. Just around teh corner is Christmas and I am so excited. I love Christmas time, it is such a great time to think about what life truly is about and celebrate with all the people we love.

Davin's 1st haircut.

Davin had his first haircut today and it was much needed. I had given him a trim around his neck line just before his 1st birthday cause he was starting to grow a mullett. I didn't want to actually cut it cause it was his baby hair and cutting it would mean he wasn't a baby anymore. He is growing too fast. He is already 1 and I don't know where the last year went. He is almost 1 1/2 (sob). It was an experience for him and for me. We took him to Cookie Cutters where he sat in a fire truck and watched a Barney DVD. He was nervous and so was I. What if I hated the haircut? What if the girl cut it to short? Those questions ran through my head. Aren told the girl what length to cut it and it turned out awesome. Davin took home a certifcate with a lock of hair and his picture on it. We went home happy.

Marinello Beauty School Hair Show

My sister-in-law, Karlee, is a student at Marinello (formerly Stacy's Hands of Champions) and they have a hair competition/hair show every year and I had the chance to be her hair model. The students get graded on everything that goes on at school and this was a huge part of their grade. This year the theme was Maquerade. The students had to come up with a hair style and mask to go along with the theme. It was a lot of. Lots of preperation and stress went into my hair and mask. There were lots of practice sessions. Karlee's brother, Kyle, made the mask using a plaster mold. He put plaster on my face until it was a little dry then he designed the mask and painted it. It was awesome! I had the best mask in the competition. It was a very unique design. The day of the show started off with all the students and models ready to start at their stations. Nothing could be pre-done to the hair. The whistle was blown and each student had 1 1/2 hours to style their models hair with out talking. The model and student could not have any interaction with each other or any one else in the room. After the time was up the models put face masks over their faces and were judged by 5 judges. It was a long judging. I think I sat in my chair for at least 30 minutes. We ate lunch then headed over to Ogden Eccles for the rest of the judging and the show. There the models were judged on their masks and overall apperance. That took forever too. When all the judging was done we had a cat walk rehersal. Then it was time for the show to begin. All of my family, Aren's family and Karlee's family were there to support us. We had the loudest cheering section. It was a long but fun night and we took 2nd place. Karlee had also won some other prizes as well. I am proud of her and am very thankfull for everything she did for me and that I could be a part of that night with her.
These are some other hair styles from the competition.

I love the fall! Fall has to be one of the best seasons there is. I can't get enough of the colors on the trees and the weather starting to cool down from the hot summer. There is even a smell in the air that I love. I also love taking walks and hearing the crunching of leaves under my shoes. While at a friends home, Davin and I found a pile a leaves in the yard and played in them. Davin had such a great time throwing the leaves in the air and kicking them with his feet. He is such an outdorsy boy. Rain, snow, wind or sunshine it doesn't matted. Davin will want to be outside for hours. I love it when he is happy, it sure beats the awnry-ness that occurs every once in a while.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays too. Partly because it is part of the fall. I was so excited for this Halloween. We dressed up Davin as  lion and went trick-or-treating at the South Town Mall with some friends and their daughter. She was Bell from Beauty and the Beast so we told everyone that is who they were. We took Davin Trick-or-Treating through our neighbor hood for about 30 min.. It was so cute to see him go up to the door and choose which candy he wanted from the bowl. He came home with lots of fun treats. Next year and the years to come are only going to get better.

A day at the park

Davin and I were board of being home and doing housework so I decided to take him to see and feed the ducks at the Layton Park. What a fun day. When we got to the park I took him to the pond and we saw some geese walking on the sidewalk so I took Davin out of the stroller and showed him how to feed the birds. He was scared, but what 1 1/2 year old wouldn't be. Geese are big birds and these ones were hungry. They ran up to me and snatched the bread right from my hand with no hesitation.

Well after we walked around the pond and saw all the ducks I thought it would be fun to get a few scenic pictures with Davin. He wasn't to cooperative. He wanted to play on the grass.

After a few attemps I gave up and we headed over to the playground. Davin loved the slide and the swings. He cried when I told him it was time to go home.

I had packed a few snacks and a blanket so we sat on the grass and had a picnic and played with Davin's little soccer ball before we left. It was a good ending to the afternoon. Davin wore himself out and feel asleep on the way home.

Lake Powell '09

We always have such a great time at Lake Powell. I look forward to it every year. Nothing beats sitting under the warm sun or playing in the cool water.

This year Davin was old enough to do just about everything. He loved the sand and the water the most. He would stay in the water till his whole body was a wrinkled prune. Even then he didn't want to get out. He loved to sit in the captans chair and pretend he was stearing the boat.

We had a great time with family and friends. Lots of great food and dancing. It was a very relaxing week.

On our way home a deer decided to try and out run the Denali. It jumped in front of the car and well...he didn't make it. We hit the poor thing and killed it. It did some damage to the Denali and we sat on the side of the road for about 3 or 4 hours until the men were able to jimmy rig a peice together then Aren's dad had to fill out a police report about the accident then we were on our way. It wasn't a fun experience but I can't wait till next years trip.

Wendover Air show

What a great combination =). Well, for Aren and Davin. I loved the hot September day. Davin is facinated with airplanes and helicopters. And Aren loves to gamble. So, we went and spent the day watching the airplanes do stunts and seeing the different types of planes. We got to look inside of a cargo plane and Davin's eyes lit up when he saw all the buttons and lights in the cock pit. Aren wants to get his pilots license and was given  the chance to fly a plane while Davin and I rode in the back. As soon as we were up in the air Davin fell asleep on my lap. We flew all over the Bonneville Salt Flats and close to the Wendover mountains. Wendover sure does look different when you're in the air. With Aren being a beginner flyer there was a lot of turbulance and I started to feel sick. It was a good thing Aren landed when he did or else there would have been a mess in the back seat. It was a fun experience though. I video taped the whole experience. It will be fun to watch in the future.

An Update

Wow! I can't belive it has been 3 months since the last posting. We have been so busy and so much has happened. Our lives are non stop but we love every minute of it. Well, where do I start?... Davin is growing up so fast and is becoming very independant.                                                Davin has now graduated to taking showers.
He wants to be like dad.

Feeding Roxy is a favorite. Roxy likes it too.
In June I took Davin swimming at the Roy Aquatic Ceter for his cousins birthday. Davin is a water baby. Once he is in the water he doesn't ever want to get out. He loved going down the water slides too. He had a lot of fun.At the end of June we drove up to Moon Lake to spend some time with friends. It's an annual trip we all take because it is such a beautiful place with rustic cabins, a general store, boat rentals, lake and stream fishing, sand beach, hiking and much more. Most of our friends stay a few nights but we just go for the day. There is to much to worry about when you have a toddler. The boys fish while the girls talk then we work up an appetite playing volleyball. After dinner we head home.
It's August and such a busy month. Time for the Bunot/Stark Family Reunion (That's on my side). We usually go to Cherry Hills every year but familys are getting bigger so this year we all had fun at the Roy Aquatic Center.

We took Davin to Lagoon a few weeks later to celebrate our friends daughters 2nd birthday. Davin was too little to ride the rides except the Merry-Go-Round. He had so much fun.
Happy Birthday Jayden!Maize & Davin Davin is very affectionate
WEEEEE Before running through the water...
After...he was to tired to enjoy the fun.

Around the middle of August we took a trip to Lake Powell with some friends. We spent a whole week there and although things didn't go as planned we still love being there. The weather was great and the water was warm. 6 hour road trips are tiring but Davin kicked back and slept most of the way. When he wasn't sleeping he was watching Barney =). I am so glad we have tv's in the truck. With out them I think we would have gone insane.

Aren's aunt from Iran came to visit at the end of June. Before the leaves begin to change and the weather gets colder we took a drive through the mountains up by the Bountiful 'B' and enjoyed hobo dinners around the campfire and Aren took everyone for rides around the dirt trails on his 4-wheeler, even Davin. The laughter that came from him is unforgetable. At first he'd let out a scared scream then burst out in laghter. He loved going fast.

We have had a lot of fun these past few months and are ready for more adventures. We have a few more vacations planned before the end of the year. I can't wait to see what is in store for the comming year.
