Why do babies grow up so fast?

Why do babies grow up so fast, it is sad and fun at the same time. I love this little boy, he brightens everyday of my life. His little smile is amazing, especially with those 4 pearly whites!
The summer is finally here and we are loving the warm weather. Especially Davin. He loves playing in the dirt and water. He has even crawled through the sprinklers. Aren's mom, Patsy, bought him a swimming pool and he loves it! So before all of this rain started and it was actually starting to get warm, Davin was swimming almost everyday. He LOVES the water. It doesn't matter if its a small blow up pool or a huge pool. He loves splashing around. We can't get him out. He has experimented with the water by putting his face in it and he loves to crawl out and then back in.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

For those of you who don't know where Cabo is, it is at the bottom of the Baja Peninsula. There is no time difference and it is very Americanized with Costco, Walmart, Burger King, Subway and they even have a mall. Cabo was amazing! Aren, Davin, and I were so lucky to be able to go last week (04/ 20-04/27). We had a great time experiencing just about everything Cabo has to offer and spending time with family and friends. Our friend Jeff, Aren's sister, Atessa & her husband Tyler and his brother Brent and his wife Janet also came. It was such a fun, amazing, and beautiful place to visit. I would recommend it to anyone trying to plan a vacation. There were dozens of sites to see and things to do. We definitely needed more time. I wish we could have stayed at least 3 more days. 7 days just wasn't enough time to do everything we wanted to. We got on the airplane at 7:30 Monday morning and had a layover in Denver then we were off to Cabo. We arrived in Mexico around 1 pm. Davin is a born traveler. He did so good. I was impressed. He rode on my lap and slept for most of the plane ride. When we arrived at the airport we signed up for a timeshare presentation because that is how you get to enjoy everything for FREE or in our case cause we were under age 30 we enjoyed everything for more than 50% off. Thanks to Brent & Janet we would have payed a bundle if they didn't tell us about the timeshare. We then took a taxi to the hotel. People are crazy drivers in Mexico! And I thought we were bad in Utah. All the roads are highways and the roads have no lanes. We would be driving with 4 lanes of traffic and it would all of a sudden turn into 2 lanes and the traffic just flowed. Unlike here where there are traffic jams cause we are stubborn. =)We finally arrived at the hotel {the Pueblo Bonito Rose} on The Sea of Cortez around 2:30pm. Yup, our hotel was right on the beach. It was so pretty. The first thing we did when we got to our hotel was take a look around and went down to the beach. It was amazing to see. I have only been to the beach in California and the waves in Mexico were so different. Davin was a little scared of the waves at first but later loved when the water hit his toes. There were a ton of boats out and people wave running. Every day there was a different cruise ship in our bay. Wow! Those a big boats. There was a huge yacht that showed up on Tuesday. It's owned by some guy that lives in British Columbia or somewhere by there. He has his driver drive the boat to the bay and then he flys in on his helicopter. He goes to Cabo for a month every year. The name of the yacht is Attessa. Aren's sisters name. Monday night we went to an outside restaurant and Tyler went up on stage and won for having the best Mexican yell. Then Jeff won a contest as well. We were 2 for 2 in winning competitions.
Tuesday we went to our timeshare presentation early in the morning then shopped at Costco for food. Our hotel room had a kitchen and we planned on doing most of our cooking. Later that night we went to a Fiesta later that evening. It was all you can eat and the food was delicious. There was a pinata for the young ones but Davin fell asleep. There was dancers and other activities for everyone to enjoy. Jeff and Atessa went up on stage and Jeff won the competition for the night. That put us at 3 for 3. We were on a roll.
Davin & dad @ Costco

Wed. everyone but Aren, Davin, & I went 4-wheeling on the beach. Then we took a glass bottom taxi boat to Lovers Beach. The boys snorkeled and the girls played in the sand with Davin. He loved it. When we got back we played in the pool at the hotel. That night we walked the town and and went down to the pier. That is where the mall is. It reminded me of Vegas.
Four wheelin'

Thursday Jeff, Aren, Davin, & I went on a sunset cruise around the bay and saw sea lions, ate delicious fajitas, and enjoyed the sunset. A sea lion followed the boat back into the bay and when we got off the boat Aren almost got to pet it.
Friday we drove to the other side of town where the Pacific Ocean is and the boys went surfing. The girls enjoyed sipping from coconuts while Davin slept and then we met up with the boys, ate lunch and watched them surf some more. It looked fun and I hope I can try it next time.

Saturday Jeff & Aren rented wave runners and played around the bay. When they came back it was my turn to enjoy myself. I went to the spa and was pampered with a manicure, pedicure, & facial. Ahhh it was relaxing. After we hung out at the pool and played pool volleyball and Aren entered a ping pong tournament and won.

Sunday we did all of our souvenir shopping and had a one last dinner with everyone.
Monday we packed and had our last meal at the hotel restaurant then headed to the airport. I was sad. We were all sad. I really miss the warm weather, laying out by beautiful beach, and the nice people. We will be going back for sure. We got home Monday night around 9:30pm. What a great trip.

A big day for Davin

This morning I was feeling Davin's gums, like I do on a regular basins, for any sign of a tooth and I felt something sharp so I looked and yup Davin has his first tooth! I think there might be 2 but he is such a squirmy worm I wasn't able to tell. It is the cutest thing seeing the start of his little tooth. This afternoon he was watching Aren bounce a basketball and loved seeing it go up and down. He laughed and thought it was the coolest thing so I gave him his little basket ball and I showed him how to bounce it. After a few trys he bounced the basketball. Actually, he picks it up and drops it but to him he was bouncing it. He has been pulling himself up to things and trying to walk and tonight he was playing by his saucer and he pulled himself up to play with the toys on top and then he let go and held himself up for almost 5 seconds. I was so excited I had him hold his self up with the saucer and he did it again! I got it all on video. I wish I could figure out how to put it on here. Today has been fun. I am glad I have the chance to work part time so I can be there for these milestones in Davin's life.
Look at me. I'm standing!

Coral Pink Sand Dunes

We just took our first camping trip of the summer last weekend. We went to the Coral Pink Sand Dunes near Kanab. It was a blast. Our friends Jeremy & Lacy own toyshare where you accumulate points and can trade them in for Rvs, 4-wheelers, or boats etc...So they rented a motor home, we loaded up the 4-wheelers and off we went. It was a long 5 hour drive and I am glad we weren't trapped in a car. That would have been uncomfortable. And Davin did so well. But I wasn't surprised. Davin loves road trips. We took off on Thursday afternoon and came home sunday evening. We enjoyed warm weather and being with friends. Davin played in the sand and road around on the 4-wheeler with dad. He is an outdoors boy for sure. Our next vacation is Cabo in 3 weeks and we can not wait. Davin is comming with and I am excited to see his excitement on the plane and playing on the beach and in the water. I am so glad he does so well away from home.

Moab 5 mile run

This year Atessa (Aren's sister), my mom, Aren & I all decided we were going to run in Moab's 5 mile run on March 21st. After 3 months of training, the day came. We got up early and were bussed up the canyon to the starting point. The gun went off and we started down the canyon road. After 59 minutes my mom finished. 2 minutes later Atessa and I came across the finish line. We would have kept up with my mom but for years I have been getting bad pains in my knee when I run. I wobbled down the road for the last 2 miles or so and what a great sister-in-law Atessa is, she stayed with me. After the race we rested a little and then went on a few 4x4 jeep trails with Atessa's brother-in-law, Trevor. We went on a few trails in Hell's Revenge. It was exciting. Atessa has been trying to talk me into running the 1/2 marathon (13 miles) next year. I am still debating on that. I might be joining her in a triathalon in sept. down in St. George. I think that will be a great way to end the summer.
This is called a hot tub in Hell's Revenge

It's time to baby proof the house!

Our little munchkin is mobile! Davin started crawling on March 6. He has been working on this for about a month and has finally figured it out. He is also cruisin around in his walker. He loves chasing our dog, Roxy and any one who will run from him. He is now into everything. If it's on the floor he'll try to run it over or knock it down. If it is on a table within reach he'll grab it. Davin is also teething. The poor little guy. I can't even imagine how bad it hurts. He'll be 9 months old on the 19th and he is learning so much. He can say da da and has learned to spit along with a few other noises. His favorite toy is his soccer ball...Go figure. He can kick it and almost push it away from him when sitting. We have spring fever so bad. I can't wait till we can slide down the slide and swing on the swings. I can't believe my baby will be a year old in 3 1/2 months. We have a busy summer planned and we are excited to enjoy new things as a family.

Our 1 year Anniversary & Davin updates

Today we celebrated our 1 year anniversary! We enjoyed breakfast in bed and on Wednesday Feb.11 we are going to see the Jazz take on the L.A. Lakers. We are both excited. It has been an exciting journey as a married couple. We can't wait to spend the next 100 years together. Davin will be 8 months old on the 19th. He is about 19.5 pounds and about 28" long. He has taught him self to turn in circles while sitting and reaching for toys that are out of his reach and getting back into the sitting position. Most of the time he ends up in the crawling position so we think he'll be taking off any time now. It seems he would rather walk because he trys to get up from a sitting position and ends up on all fours and then back to the crawling position. It is pretty funny to see. He is still all smiles and giggles and he loves to hear his voice and screams from time to time. He is learning new jibberish also. His new thing to say is baba. All day long we hear babababa, bababababa. We love our Davin.
