Coral Pink Sand Dunes

We just took our first camping trip of the summer last weekend. We went to the Coral Pink Sand Dunes near Kanab. It was a blast. Our friends Jeremy & Lacy own toyshare where you accumulate points and can trade them in for Rvs, 4-wheelers, or boats etc...So they rented a motor home, we loaded up the 4-wheelers and off we went. It was a long 5 hour drive and I am glad we weren't trapped in a car. That would have been uncomfortable. And Davin did so well. But I wasn't surprised. Davin loves road trips. We took off on Thursday afternoon and came home sunday evening. We enjoyed warm weather and being with friends. Davin played in the sand and road around on the 4-wheeler with dad. He is an outdoors boy for sure. Our next vacation is Cabo in 3 weeks and we can not wait. Davin is comming with and I am excited to see his excitement on the plane and playing on the beach and in the water. I am so glad he does so well away from home.

Moab 5 mile run

This year Atessa (Aren's sister), my mom, Aren & I all decided we were going to run in Moab's 5 mile run on March 21st. After 3 months of training, the day came. We got up early and were bussed up the canyon to the starting point. The gun went off and we started down the canyon road. After 59 minutes my mom finished. 2 minutes later Atessa and I came across the finish line. We would have kept up with my mom but for years I have been getting bad pains in my knee when I run. I wobbled down the road for the last 2 miles or so and what a great sister-in-law Atessa is, she stayed with me. After the race we rested a little and then went on a few 4x4 jeep trails with Atessa's brother-in-law, Trevor. We went on a few trails in Hell's Revenge. It was exciting. Atessa has been trying to talk me into running the 1/2 marathon (13 miles) next year. I am still debating on that. I might be joining her in a triathalon in sept. down in St. George. I think that will be a great way to end the summer.

It's time to baby proof the house!

Our little munchkin is mobile! Davin started crawling on March 6. He has been working on this for about a month and has finally figured it out. He is also cruisin around in his walker. He loves chasing our dog, Roxy and any one who will run from him. He is now into everything. If it's on the floor he'll try to run it over or knock it down. If it is on a table within reach he'll grab it. Davin is also teething. The poor little guy. I can't even imagine how bad it hurts. He'll be 9 months old on the 19th and he is learning so much. He can say da da and has learned to spit along with a few other noises. His favorite toy is his soccer ball...Go figure. He can kick it and almost push it away from him when sitting. We have spring fever so bad. I can't wait till we can slide down the slide and swing on the swings. I can't believe my baby will be a year old in 3 1/2 months. We have a busy summer planned and we are excited to enjoy new things as a family.

Our 1 year Anniversary & Davin updates

Today we celebrated our 1 year anniversary! We enjoyed breakfast in bed and on Wednesday Feb.11 we are going to see the Jazz take on the L.A. Lakers. We are both excited. It has been an exciting journey as a married couple. We can't wait to spend the next 100 years together. Davin will be 8 months old on the 19th. He is about 19.5 pounds and about 28" long. He has taught him self to turn in circles while sitting and reaching for toys that are out of his reach and getting back into the sitting position. Most of the time he ends up in the crawling position so we think he'll be taking off any time now. It seems he would rather walk because he trys to get up from a sitting position and ends up on all fours and then back to the crawling position. It is pretty funny to see. He is still all smiles and giggles and he loves to hear his voice and screams from time to time. He is learning new jibberish also. His new thing to say is baba. All day long we hear babababa, bababababa. We love our Davin.

Thanksgiving & Christmas

Wow time sure does fly when you're having a good time. Davin turned 6 months on Dec 19th. He is such a happy boy and is learning so much. He is sitting up on his own, pushing hisself up from the floor and pushing hisself around in circles, rolling over, eating all varieties of solids and laughing and giggling all day. He is growning so fast. We had Thanksgiving at our house. That was hard work but Dana managed to pull it off. Christmas was fun. We had family over the week before Christmas and had pitures taken and spent Christmas Eve with Dana's family. Christmas day we visited family and friends then spent the remainder of the day with Aren's family. Davin opened all his presents and was more interested in eating the paper than what was inside. Later that night he enjoyed playing with all his new toys while mom and dad sat back and relaxed from the snowy winter drive around town. We love the holidays and are looking forward to the next year when Davin is older and able to do more.

Davin's firsts.

Davin is having the best time learning & experiencing new things. He met a few of his extended family from Iran on Aren's side in August and they visited again in December. We went to Lake Powell in Oct and he got to play in the water and had his first belly laugh. For Halloween we dressed him up as a Baseball player and went to a few parties. In Nov we went to Hanksville for a turkey shoot and Davin rode a horse with Aren. He loved it. He pulled on the reins and walk the horse. He has started eating solids and has tried sweet potatoes, bananas, & rice cereal. He's not a fan of sweet potatoes but we're still trying. He is learning to drink from a sippy cup and can almost roll over. He likes to put everything in his mouth and can grasp his toys. He is getting so big.

Lake Powell Sep. 30-Oct. 12 '08

We just purchased a share in a houseboat at Lake Powell this year. Wow, it is amazing. This is my first time on a house boat but Aren has been on a few before. He has been going to Lake Powell since he was 3 and I have been once before. Davin is 3 months old and absolutely loves being out on the lake. As we were driving around the lake looking for a place to park the boat Davin was watching out the door at the water. Atessa (Aren's sister) was playing with him and out came his first belly laugh. It was so cute. He had us all laughing the whole trip with his personality. This was Davin's first time playing water that wasn't in the tub. He wasn't sure what to think at first and he enjoyed it till his diaper got wet then he was done. We were there for almost 2 weeks. We love it there. Aren has even thought about building a house in St. George just so we can be closer and go as offten as we can. A few of our friends came the first week so did my brother, his girlfriend Dee Dee, my cousin Randi and her friend Malory. Aren's parent's and some of thier friends came the 2nd week. We took our powerboat and paddle boat and did a lot of laying out enjoying the sun and warm weather. We had a great time and can't wait to go back!

Davin Darius Zamani

Davin was born on June 19, 2008 @ 6:16 AM. I had been in labor for almost 2 hours before deciding to go to the hospital. Once we arrived Davin was born 45 min later. It was a pretty easy, natural delivery. Davin is a handful. He is full of smiles & laughter & is always wanting to play even when he is tired. Since he's arrived he has watched everything and everyone one around him with curiosity in his eyses. He's smart like his father & happy like his mother. Davin is already a lady's man & loves to flirt with girls. He's a quick learner & is always wanting to try new things. He'll make anyone smile with his big brown eyes and ear to ear smile. We are so greatful that he is a part of our family.
